Illusions tells the story of Kwakyi, Jerry and friends who are getting ready to re-write WAEC remedial exams. Kwakyi is from a poor background, but pretends to be from a rich home, and hence rubs shoulders with Jerry, who is well-to-do and brilliant.
Alex and Pascal are sons of two prominent men in the country. The two were very good friends at the university until Pascal impregnated Alex’s sister and tried to abort it, which led to her death.
Alex swore to end the life of Pascal to avenge his sister’s death. Alex later met a lady and fell in love with her, but little did he know that she was Pascal’s sister. Pascal also got angry when he got to know of Alex’s moves.
Later in the series, the two will fall in love with one girl, Vanessa, a very beautiful lady who is to take over her parent’s business empire. The two met her on different occasions but the twist is that their sisters set them up. Why would they do that?
Mr. Amaglo is a very strict, abusive and irresponsible husband and father of two. He does not perform his duty as a father and husband, which has made the children rebellious. Amaglo is now cheating on his wife and chasing young girls. He goes to the extent of sleeping with his friend’s daughter. He is unaware though that his wife is also cheating on him with the student, Kwakyi.
When Amaglo goes to a hotel with Mr. Oppong’s daughter, little does he know that his wife is also in the same hotel with Kwakyi. At the same time, Mr. Oppong goes in search of Amaglo, his friend, only to find his daughter half naked in bed…drunk.
In a few months, someone will get pregnant, and hell will break loose.
In short, Illusions is a satirical mini drama series that comes with a unique episode title and plot. It brings to bear issues of irresponsible parenting, broken homes and the effect it has on the ward. It also talks about drugs, alcoholism and its effect on the youth and the public at large, while highlighting on heath and sexually related diseases such as AIDS, Hepatitis B, and syphilis.
